Momma's Boy

Dear Wesley,
I am absolutely 100% totally in love with you, my first born.
I cannot believe you are 9 years old this week. Stop growing so fast. Please.
I can't even believe I am about to say this, but in a few years you will be a teenager!!!
Time is going by way too quickly.

I tell you this all the time, but you are so special to me.
The day you were born, I could not wait to hold you. Finally we had our baby in our arms.
Not only are you special because you are our first baby, but we wanted a baby so
badly and when you came, and we had a hard time, so you were God's special gift to us.
You have so much love in your heart for people. And you sure do seem like you love
Mommy so so much. I love the way you tell me I'm the best mom in the world (but Mary is too.)
Or when you tell me God gave you such a good mommy, then you give me a snuggle or a kiss.

Our hugs and our snuggle times are so precious to me. I love when we laugh together
about something super funny that one of us did. I love when you read mommy's blog
and start cracking up so hard you can hardly breathe. It makes me smile that you think
what I write about you guys is so funny. I loved our conversation the other day.
Wesley: How much is orange chicken?
Me: Um....o-r-a-n-g-e.
Wesley: What in the world?
Or when we practice your spelling bee words or memory verse and you are flipping
and bouncing all over the bedroom. You make me so happy.
We have so much fun together, don't we? I love how you beg for family movie night or
family game night so that you can hang out with mommy or daddy.

Wes, you will always always always be my little buddy no matter how much bigger than
me you get. I am so proud of you each day you come home from school with 5 out of 5
stars! I am so proud of how hard you work when you do your book reports. I know you don't
like it when I say this, but you are so smart and I want to see you continue to use that gift
and do well in school and in life. I want to see you branch out and try out for school & church plays because I know you memorize things well and aren't afraid of the stage!
Don't get lazy like mommy did in school. Work hard.

One more thing I want to tell you, Wes...

Wesley Pie, Wesley Pie I love you...yes I do!

Happy Birthday to my big 9 year old!

Welcome to week 19 of the Mommy-Brain Mixer, ladies!

Last week we had 73 link-ups! Please help spread the word so the Mixer keeps on growing!

If you haven't noticed, one of our favorite things to do is to share stories about motherhood and our littles. One of our favorite things about sharing these stories is your comments with stories of your own children!

Welcome to...

At the Mommy-Brain Mixer, we will be linking up our writings about anything and everything motherhood!

We want to see funny posts, serious posts, sweet & sappy stories, mommy-brain episodes, memories from when your older children were younger, thoughts & lessons learned, and anything related to motherhood or little people. You know that post you wrote yesterday about your teething baby? Or that hilarious post you wrote about your 2nd grader's school play? Those are perfect, so link 'em up!

The Mommy-Brain Mixer is the perfect place to find some great new blogs to follow, make some wonderful new blog friends, and enjoy some entertaining new reads!

To make things even more fun, our friend Mar, over at Raising Bean, is hosting a sister link-up for you to join, too!

Head on over there after your finished here and link up your recipes, DIY, arts & crafts, and sensory activities!

Let's get to it, friends!

What an incredibly beautiful letter to Wes. I'm in tears right now. I hope that when God blesses me with children that they will love me as much as Wes loves you. And, just as you, I pray that I can point them to Christ.
